PROJECT OVERVIEW
Avante-Guard: Logo Rebranding
Avante-Guard is a production company and the Philippines' premier poster provider. The business also introduces film and cinema towards cinephiles to provide a new experience, as well as music and fine arts included. Prior to consultation, the business already had an established identity, which I've only worked around it to accompany them into the revision of the logo.
The problem and the goal
Avante-Guard needed a logo that would best represent the business itself, working my way from the previous logo and transforming it to a premier and professional facade.
Role and responsibility
My role for this project was to create a unique logo while sticking to Avante-Guard's existing brand, and keeping the previous logo on mind as to improve it further. With this responsibility, I'm tasked to create a new face of the business.

The client introduced me to their brand as well as their previous logo. They wanted something that looks premiere, artistic, independent, luxurious, geometric and sharp. The previous logo follows:

Logo Iteration and Approvals
Given the mentioned visuals, prompt and how we should stick to the previous logo, it's now time to create logo iterations and feedback from the client. Here is my sketching process which was done in a mobile tablet until it is uploaded on desktop, working with Adobe Illustrator.
The process and breakdown of the iteration of logo and feedback from the client
  • I'll submit my first pitch, presenting the client three different logo designs
  • Client will pick one of the three logo designs to choose from, and I will iterate the logo from there. Polishing and iterating minor and small revisions are called VERSIONS.
  • If the client wants more options other than the initial three logos, I then will create another ROUND of logos, presenting three more different logo designs.
  • Once both the client and I have agreed onto a specific logo, I'll continue iterating it into versions, arriving at the final logo.
Initially, the client wanted to pick the first logo on the first round (yellow highlighted circle) as I've also iterated three more versions of that specific logo. However, the client mentioned that they don't see using that specific logo long-term. Now, we've proceeded to Round 2, and the client was gravitating towards the second logo (green highlighted circle), as I've continued creating versions of that logo, eventually ending up at the third logo (blue highlighted circle).

Final Design
The final design consists of five variations of the main logo: The main logo, Logotype, for Cinema and Films, for Music, and for Fine Arts. The following is presented below:
APPLICATION

The logos are finally implemented, and it is ready for brand applications. Niche posts such as films will use the AG with the film logo and vice versa. See the logo application on the brand's Instagram and sample posts below:
RESULTS
Results and Impact
The freelance project ended last September 2022. According to TrendHero.io, an app which analyzes growth of each public accounts in Instagram, the brand initially had around 4,200 followers on Instagram before the rebranding (August 2022). It then rose into 4,995 followers on February 27, 2023, which was the peak of the account's follower count. From September 2022 to February 2023, there had been an increase of 18.929%, having 795 followers added throughout the duration. Although I've created the brand's revised logo and identity, the social media content and engagement is not within my scope but I believe branding can also contribute to the gain towards the success of the business.
